Established in 2000 as a government think-tank, the Institute for Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) has evolved into a peace and governance expertise hub. It operates under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, driving peace-focused policies.
IPCR is a semi-autonomous agency that provides research, policy advisory and direct interventions in conflict prevention, resolution and management to the Nigerian government and other peacebuilding actors. With a dedicated team spanning multiple disciplines and a deep understanding of local contexts.
The Institute is headquartered in Abuja, and operates across Nigeria and Africa with a bias for West Africa and the Sahel region, tirelessly advancing peace, conflict resolution, and governance.
IPCR’s Fundamental principle is that peace is an all-inclusive process and this principle underscores the commitment to engaging diverse stakeholders, pooling resources, and leveraging collective strengths in a mission to foster lasting peace and sustainable development.
