BPUR International is proud to welcome Mary Ikoku as a new ambassador and Regional Representative, and we are looking forward to her leading contributions to promote our initiative and boost our momentum worldwide.
Mary Ikoku is a Communications and Public Relations Professional with ample experience developing and implementing communication and public relations strategies to assure brand visibility and promote corporate image, policies and positions.
She is currently a Department for Foreign Development’s (DFID)/Nigerian Infrastructure Advisory Facility (NIAF) Consultant embedded to work as the Head of Communication at the Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Program (SURE-P) of the Federal Government of Nigeria.
Prior to this, she was the Lead Consultant at The Access Media Ltd, where she performed perception management consultancy services for a number of top government functionaries including the Attorney General of the Federation and also led the publication of Working Moms Magazine as Editor.
She had earlier served as Special Adviser to the Minister of Information and Communications. In this role, she implemented a number of innovative schemes to expand government outreach, generate funding for advocacy campaigns and refine governmental communication processes.
Mary also has an impressive track record in the private and third sector and has led numerous advocacy campaigns that ensure her strong links with donors, senior government officials and international communications experts alike.
She obtained a B.A. degree in English Language from Abia State University and qualifications in Specialized Studies in PR from University of California, Davis (UCDavis), Integrated Approach to Public Relations from London School of Public Relations, Social Media for Senior Executives from Panthers Social Media in London and Television Presentation Skills from Independent Television Producers association of Nigeria (ITPAN).
