Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan is a prominent politician, former minister in many Pakistani governments and a member of the National Parliament for more than 10 years.
She served as Minister for the Population Welfare (2008-2010), Minister for Women Development (2010-2011), Minister for the Information, Broadcasting and Culture (2011-2012) and Minister for the National Regulation & Health services (2012-2013).
Back in 2000 Firdous Ashiq Awan was Elected as vice President of the World Assembly of Youth, which is a worldwide platform working for the rights of Youth in health, education and employment.
She is a renowned speaker in national and international events as well as a leading campaigner with local and international organisations for human rights, social justice and women empowerment.
