Lukas is a leading Member of the European Parliament from Austria. He is the Chair of the Korea delegation and Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee on Security and Defence in the European Parliament.
He is also a former member of the State Parliament of Lower Austria, Vice Mayor of his home town Gerasdorf and Lecturer at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
